What are the 5-ways to wellbeing?
plus-icon

The 5-ways to wellbeing are a set of evidence-based public mental health messages aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of the whole population. They were developed by the New Economics Foundation (NEF) as the result of a commission by Foresight, the UK government's futures think-tank, as part of the Foresight Project on Mental Capital and Wellbeing.

The 5-ways are:

  • Connect
  • Be Active
  • Take Notice
  • Keep Learning
  • Give

The model is widely used within the NHS and has been adopted by MIND, the mental health charity.  At the core of the WoWW! proposition is the belief that regular practice of the 5-ways and integration into a current lifestyle can transform everyone’s wellbeing. The 5-ways represent a structure and platform for a personalised approach to ‘Wellbeing-Your-Way’.

Who has access to the data?
plus-icon

All employee data is anonymised and it is not possible to monitor the wellbeing activity of any individual. As an employer you will observe aggregate data of your employees to see how engaged they are with the platform/program as a whole and which types of activity are most popular as defined by category of the 5-ways to wellbeing.

The system offers three levels of permissions and you will decide who has relevant access to each – this will be agreed as part of the onboarding process and can be amended at any time.  The three levels of access we currently offer are:

1. Senior HR permissions (full access & can view/respond in-app to comments)
2. HR administration (to maintain membership)
3. Managers access (to view headline statistics).

Each level of access is customisable to the needs of your organisation and you can setup permissions to suit your internal structure.

Individual ‘check-in’ responses within the platform are anonymised and any written feedback can be kept hidden from the organisation if that is the user preference.  The user can however chose for their comments to be visible to the organisation and allow a ‘right of reply’ through an in-app notification designed for creating an opportunity to ‘sign-post’.  For example most employees are unaware of the existence of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – comments of a sensitive nature can be responded to with details of the available EAP - this may be the first step to resolving someone’s issues.

What does a WoWW! programme consist of and what does it cost?
plus-iocn

There are three elements in the delivery of the WoWW! programme.  Firstly we run a series of workshops.

Workshop 1: is to create awareness of the 5 ways of wellbeing and introduce the Moments Application and how it works.
Workshop 2: is for managers to develop 1-2-1 communication skills for discussing wellbeing with others.
Workshop 3: is for the wellbeing team to interpret the ‘check-in’ data and learn about platforms reporting capabilities.

Delegates who attend all 3 workshops will be provided with materials to support in the onboarding of new employees and associated comms. Access to all 3 workshops is priced at £350 per delegate.

The second element of the delivery is an employer’s administration portal to view data usage, view & respond to 'check-in' data & administration of the membership. This is a fixed price of £3,500 p.a.

The third element of the delivery is the employee application available for Android and iOS, priced at £5.00 per month, per employee for the first 500 employees and £2.00 per month, per employee above 500 employees.
